January 22-25

As we approach Milestones testing, students will take timed, online formative and summative assignments. Hopefully, students will utilize the same close reading strategies that we have practiced using paper/pencil in the electronic format. Remember, all 7th graders will take the Milestone tests online.

This week, we will focus on the following:

Reading Selections

Tangerine and corresponding matchbook summaries

Lightning and Fire NF text (online formative)

Skills and Strategies

Argumentative Texts, analyzing and composing claims and counterclaims

Higher Order Thinking Skills using Bloom's Taxonomy

Due Dates

+ ReadTheory- all classes Wednesday (technically Tuesday at midnight)

+ Book Selection for 3rd Qtr. Ind. Reading Project- Friday 1/25

Reminders

+ Meet in the 7th Grade Computer Lab on Wednesday

+ Bring earbuds to use with school-provided technology (computers and iPads)
