Meet Mrs. Moore

My name is Kristen Moore and I am so excited to be teaching Humanities to an awesome group of 6th and 7th graders at Cross! This will be my 16th year in education. I spent 11 years in the classroom and also spent 4 years as a Literacy Specialist and PD Specialist for the state of Arkansas.

Outside of the classroom, I am a wife and a mommy. We have 3 energetic kiddos (ages 10,6, and 3). We also have a spunky English Bulldog named Zoe. I grew up in California and went to college in Oklahoma. I played softball in high school and college. My husband is a college football coach and I absolutely love it. My weekends and free time are filled with football games, my kids' activities, reading, and cooking. I also like to watch TV and movies- but I don't have time for that very often.

Gifted learners are special in so many ways and I appreciate their unique strengths. Navigating the middle school years can be a challenge and I love being able to support my students and helping them discover their talents. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but some things didn't come easy or naturally for me. I think that frustration is what motivates me to be a good teacher. I love the look on a student's face when something finally clicks, and I try to make every learning experience meaningful and exciting.

I believe that education should be a team effort with teachers, students, and parents all doing their part to help each student succeed. As a teacher, my goal is that each student leaves our classroom feeling more confident about themselves - as a learner and as a person.

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
