Grade Recovery and Retakes

Due to the number of absences and requests to “retake” assessments, I need to make some changes to our procedures. For clarification, please review the following:

Grade Recovery Policy • Retakes and grade recovery options are only available on assignments that earn <70% • Students can only request to retake a summative assessment, and must do so within 7 days of the grade being posted on Synergy. • If a student wants to retake a summative assessment for grade recovery, he/she must attend one tutorial session with me or one of the Griffin tutoring sessions offered on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturdays. (If a student attends a Griffin session, he/she must request work from me related to the summative. Attendance will be verified and work must be completed.)

Absent Work If a student is absent for a summative assessment, they must take it with me, either in the morning before school or during their lunch. If time allows, they can make up the work during class, but that it is up to my discretion.

Morning Tutoring/Make-Up Work Sessions I am available (almost) every day from 8:00-8:50. In order to make sure I am available; a student must request a pass from me prior to coming in the mornings. It’s best to ask the day before you plan on coming in case I’m not available.
